Children Proceedings

We specialise in all aspects of children law.  Our areas of expertise include:

We will do everything we can to manage your issue with sensitivity with a focus on a positive outcome with as little acrimony as possible.

Divorce, Civil Dissolution and Separation

We are specialists in all aspects of divorce, civil dissolution and separation. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Divorce Proceedings

  • Resolving the financial matters of divorcing or separating couples

  • Preservation of assets

  • Disputes involving children

We can advise and represent clients going through relationship difficulties which may or may not culminate in a divorce, civil dissolution or separation either as Petitioner or Respondent. We can assist throughout the process from initial instruction to final court orders. Our aim is to try and ensure that the ending of a relationship is concluded as amicably as possible with the minimum of stress bearing in mind any future need for communication which is particularly relevant if children are involved.

Social Services

We are experienced in representing clients in cases concerning the Local Authority (Social Services) who are involved with a family in respect of child protection concerns. These situations can be very worrying and daunting for a parent or children who have to deal with social workers and other related professionals. The process can be baffling and bewildering. We can offer advice and representation in such a situation to include:

  • Child protection issues concerning a child´s welfare and safeguarding such as Child Protection Case Conferences

  • Public law Court proceedings (care proceedings) issued by the Local Authority for Care or Supervision Orders in respect of a child.

  • Meetings before Action meetings convened by the Local Authority prior to issuing Court proceedings.

Domestic Violence and Injunctions

Unfortunately, domestic abuse/violence can be a feature of some relationships. Such abuse can be physical or emotional and we are experienced in dealing with cases involving domestic abuse/violence and understand the difficulties and trauma of such a situation. We can offer advice and representation in respect of injunction proceedings, Non-Molestation Orders keeping a perpetrator away, and or Occupation Orders, seeking the removal of a perpetrator from a shared home. Such Orders can, if the situation demands it, be dealt with on an emergency basis very quickly.

We can also advise generally as to what preventative measures you can take generally, draft warning letters if appropriate, or contact the police or other agencies on your behalf that may be able to assist.
